Sold!

I've been begging on a pretty regular basis to get new family room furniture.  I ask at every major gift giving holiday just to be given the option to sell our couches, not even for new ones...Well, I am SO happy to say, our new couches will arrive in 8-10 weeks!  Our current couches have been amazing and we made sure that the salesman knew the new couches had big feet to fill, but I think we're going to be super happy with them!!!

Deck the Halls

Everybody is FINALLY on the mend so we headed out for our Christmas tree...we had a small window where the chance of rain was only 60% and we made it just in time.  We found the perfect tree and with Daddy's excellent sawing skills, we brought it home.  The boys had a blast running through the trees but it was a short lived trip as the rain started to pour and Little Guy declared he was too wet and cold.  We did manage to sneak in one sleigh ride and a few bags of fresh popcorn.  Now it's homebound to decorate!

Happy Thanksgiving

I am thankful everyday for the joys in my life, but it's nice to have a day set aside to reflect on just how blessed we all are.  To my boys who make me smile from the moment we wake until the last good night kiss, to my husband who works harder than anyone I know to give us this amazing life we are sharing together, to my family that supports us as we figure out this crazy world, and to my friends who make the small things all special, I am thankful.  I hope everyone had a wonderful day with family and friends- I wish I could say ours was spent healthy and having a blast, but we're at the tail end of the plague and I can honestly say I am looking forward to a Thanksgiving Dinner do over next year!

Brush 'em

Monkey see monkey do in this house...it usually results in double the amount of disaster, but when it comes to dental hygiene, I am glad to have Mr. Wyatt Bear copy his big brother.  This scene just melted my heart...best friends and brothers, it doesn't get much better than this.

Lowe's and Leaf Crowns

Mr. Wyatt Bear and I spend our Tuesday and Thursday mornings together while brother is in preschool and he is such a trooper with the errands so I try to mix in some fun stops...who knew that Lowe's had such an amazing Christmas decoration display.  It's our new favorite stop.  After enjoying the lights, we headed to pick up brother and we're lucky enough to catch him still outside playing.  I tried to snap a picture unseen, but he caught me and was so happy to let everyone know his mama was on the other side of the fence.  I loved watching him play with his friends and he looked darling in the leaf crown he made.  Sweet boys, my heart is happy.

Baby Patrick Scott

Our sweet nephew made is arrival today at 6:25 a.m weighing 7 pounds 10 ounces, meeting his mama after she spent 27 long hours laboring to get him into this world.  We are so proud of Kim and her hard work- morning sickness throughout pregnancy and a exhausting labor made November 19th even more special I am sure.  We weren't able to meet him in the hospital, but I popped over there the first chance I had and I am pretty sure she's going to regret saying "family is always welcome to stop by anytime"...Sweet Patrick Scott DeTar, we can't wait to watch you grow and become your own little person.  Welcome to the world little guy, we love you.

Blowing Kisses

Mr. Wyatt Bear blew kisses tonight for the first time.  He's been giving kisses for some time now, but when he said "night night" to Daddy he blew him a kiss.  It melted us.

Book Time With Daddy

Be still my heart...this is a favorite time in our house for everyone.  Daddy loves the snuggles, the boys love Daddy's expressions while reading, and I love to hear them all laugh together.  The favorite book right now in our house is "Potty"...it's a favorite only when Daddy reads it complete with sound effects...I am amazed how early potty humor starts for the male species....

Baby Charlotte

Well, Erin had Miss Charlotte this morning...in the car...on the way to the Emergency Room that is, at most, a quarter mile from their house, and it is Greg's birthday...I only wish that Greg was wearing a head cam to capture the Emergency Room trying to have her sit before realizing the baby's head was already out, or the people in the waiting room who had no idea they were going to witness something so awesome!  They cut off the yoga pants and Miss Charlotte was here!  Erin, you amaze us all- you had your all natural birth you wanted so badly and you have a birthing story for the ages. Sweet Miss Charlotte, we can't wait to watch you grow and see who you look like!  Welcome to the world little love!

Get your glow on

Today Miss Madison Kate turned 13...I met Madison on the first day of kindergarten when I held her, crying in my lap, as her mommy and daddy blew her kisses good bye.  Her big red bow and patent leather shoes melted my heart...as the year went on I became friends with her mom and eight years later, here we are setting up her surprise "Get Your Glow On" party.  I feel so lucky to have the Metchos in my life; they love my boys more than I could have ever imagined 8 years ago, and it's been a blessing to have Cari mentor me through motherhood and Madison and Jack acting as role models for my littles.  Happy Birthday to the sweetest, most mature, thoughtful, beautiful 13 year old around...We love you Miss Madison Kate!

Pheasant Season

It's always an adventure and today was no exception.  I was the woman in charge this year for Pheasant Season (Patty and Kim were both at a baby shower), and while there was a little pressure here and there, it turned out perfect!  We had a whole roasted pig thanks for my husband, amazing toppings thanks to my hubby and his two buddies, wonderful sides thanks to all my girlfriends, and a bounce house, beading, and plenty of crazy dogs to keep the kiddos busy!  We ended the night at the emergency vet, somehow Olive got her face pretty mangled and we decided it was best to bring her in.  She spent the night, got stitched up, and now has a really "easy" cone to wear for the next two weeks!  Fun times!
