Happy Easter

Today we celebrated Easter with both sides of our families!  Little Guy was in awe of the fact that his gigi, papa, grandma, and grandpa were all in the same house!  Auntie Katie, Uncle Mark, and Peyton joined us along with Daddy's brothers, Auntie Kim, and her brother and his girlfriend!  Phew!  We had a delicious brunch and another fun Easter egg hunt...Little Guy is going to be so sad when Monday rolls around and we just play outside with no eggs to find.  We enjoyed a nice Easter nap and then finished off our day with a play date at the Schroeders (they let us bum off their grill too!).  Tomorrow starts April, YIKES, and my birthday month, FUN!

And then there were 3...

A month ago we had a celebratory lunch for the four preggo girls in the extended Fitzsimmons family...and today we got to recreate the photo from lunch, but this time Miss Peyton was in her mommy's arms! It's been such a blast being pregnant with these amazing women and I can't wait to meet baby Papp next!!!

Fitzsimmons Family Easter

We celebrated Easter one day early with the whole Fitz Family.  It was also the official meet Baby Peyton party and she came dressed to impress, sparkly flip flops and all.  Family parties have always been a lot of fun, but now that we've got babies running around, things like Santa and Easter egg hunts take on a whole new meaning.  Here are some shots from the fun day!

Hard to imagine that by next Easter we'll have at least 3 more babies in this picture...and maybe more, you never know!!!

Eggstravaganza

We went to the local Easter egg hunt with the Santopadres and the Schroeders this morning.  Little Guy is so much more into "hunting" eggs this year, so it's a lot of fun to watch his face light up with every egg he drops in his basket.  His mommy forgot his basket, so Auntie Erin brought him one to borrow.  It may have been a straw purse with woven flowers, but Little Guy didn't mind!  Who can believe that next Easter we'll have two sweet babies hunting for that golden egg?!?

It's Official

Oh Man...we did it!  We officially started our kitchen remodel...and without cabinets or appliances officially ordered, I am officially in a little bit of a panic...yes it's official!  Daddy's brother Sam came into town today and he went to work hauling out carpet, tearing out cabinets, hammering out tile, and clearing out the floor- this is when it pays to start these projects pregnant, I am officially not able to be of much help, so I just have to supervise...however, starting these projects mid pregnancy may lead to early labor...Here are some photos from Day One: Kitchen Renovation!

Oil Cleansing

I decided to get a little crunchy today and try out oil cleansing...I am a little nervous starting pregnant since my skin is already a little crazy from hormones, but I have to say, my face felt really soft and clean when I went to bed! Here's to trying something new and hoping I love it as much as everyone says I will!!!!

Spring Break

Even though I have no reason to associate with the school's spring break, I am still a teacher on some level, so when spring break hits, I like to really utilize every day as if I may have to return to working outside the home come Monday...so in true spring break fashion, we hit up gymnastics this morning, followed by a relaxing nap, and then a play date with Baby Pey and Pey and Auntie before rounding out the day with dinner in P.Hill with Daddy, Gigi, and Papa.  Daddy and Papa golfed Wente today (memories!!) so we played out that way until they were done.  It ended up being a pretty late night (at least to us early birds!), but Daddy still got his photo with Pey Pey!

First the fun, then the work...

What a fun morning we had!  Little Guy and I went to Auntie Heather's for a play date with all the children and some new friends.  Little Guy isn't too sure about playing there since we've left him there before, but once he knew I was sticking around, he was in love with all the new toys!  Thanks Santopadres for another fun time!  After the fun, came the work.  We spent our afternoon working on getting the kitchen ready for demolition this Friday!  There is an awful lot of stuff that needs to be relocated when you're tearing apart your whole first floor.  I can't wait to post photos as we break ground on what is sure to be the project that sends me into early labor!

Sleep Week Success

We started Sleep Week on March 4th...today, three weeks later, we had our first official bedtime "pat on the back" to finally reward our efforts- Little Guy went to bed without crying!!!  Our hearts didn't have to suffer another break this evening; Little Guy took his sippy cup of water and laid his head on his pillow as we left him in his crib!  It was magical!  I love every minute we get to spend together awake, but it makes my heart happy to know that he is finally comfortable with his crib and not miserably sad when we tuck him in.

I wish I had some precious shots from our Easter themed playgroup today, but Little Guy REFUSED to participate in any organized photos, so we only have photos from the morning in his pjs and right before bath time...both times he insisted on wearing his rain boots...

Fly Guy

We hit up men's wearhouse today for Daddy to get measured for Uncle Luke's wedding, and while we were there we decided to have his suit altered and to pick up some new dress slacks, shoes, socks, and a belt...I am pretty much a sales person's dream when there's a buy one get one free sign hanging in the window :) I can't wait to see the hubby all slicked up and fancy!
On another "note", Little Guy kept saying something today and I couldn't place what it was. He wasn't asking for anything and he didn't seem bothered that I wasn't responding to his comment, so I just kept listening...after a few minutes I figured out the tune and realized he was singing "Twinkle twinkle little star"! OMG, it was to die for precious!!! How is it possible to just get cuter every day???

Choo Choo Easter Egg Hunt

We started off our day with a spring photo shoot down at ECB. Little Guy looked quite handsome in his linen pants, button up shirt, hat, and topsiders...and while he certainly looked the part for the photos, he had ZERO interest in cooperating for the photos....after a bag of fruit snacks and picking out his own chair, he hammed it up for the camera. I can't wait to see the finished product :) After the photo shoot Daddy surprised us and met us down at the Nut Tree! They were doing their Easter egg hunt and activity day, so it was perfect that we went down. Little Guy now recognizes the Nut Tree from the freeway and starts chanting "choo choo" whenever we pass. He was pretty jazzed when we pulled into the parking lot and even more excited when Daddy and "Odd Ball" showed up. We ran into Lizzy Bug and had a delicious lunch before heading home for naps! What a super fun day!!!

106

No gestational diabetes here; I clocked a steady 106 on my glucose test!!! To celebrate, I went out to dessert with Heather and ordered the most gigantic slice of chocolate layer cake I could....I am sure that's not what a doctor would recommend, but I felt I had earned it and we were celebrating the start to Heather's spring break!

Preciousness

We had another kitchen remodel meeting today! My sweet dad came all the way out to meet with our cabinet maker to finalize some blue prints. Our cabinet maker is a precious older man that I loved working with for our bathroom, so I am super excited to see what he comes up with! After a productive start to our day, we hit up gymnastics and an afternoon visit with Miss Peyton and her mommy. Little Guy didn't get much of a nap so he wasn't super siked by the end of the day, but we still had blast seeing lots of friends and family!  Here's a preview to my very near future, although it will be MUCH easier to wear Baby DeTar when I don't have a seven month belly to factor in as well!

Glucose

Well, the good news is I don't have gestational diabetes... that I know of...YET! I went to my appointment on Monday, all hydrated and ready to be poked, only to be told my appointment is, and always has been, on Wednesday, at 8:10...not Monday at 8:30....I am taking full advantage of the pregnancy brain excuse to explain that mess up. Anyways, we got to start today off bright and early with the yummy orange drink ( yuck!) and a blood draw. We'll wait to hear back on the results. In the meantime, the baby sounds great, just hanging out on the right side of my uterus, kicking away making sure we don't forget about it. I took home all my hospital release papers and birthing plans to fill out- I can't believe we're already that far along! One more appointment in five weeks and then we'll be seen every three weeks until we meet this little one!!!! And on a non baby, but total plus note, the ski boat is officially sold!

Ag Day with Daddy

Today we went to visit Daddy at Solano County Ag Day.  Ag Day is geared at local third grade classrooms and Daddy has been an active member for many years now, but this was the first time we got to see him in action.  Daddy, along with his brothers, ran a branding station teaching students about how branding works, why cattle are branded, and sending students away with a souvenir of branded wood.  Here are some highlight questions that Daddy got after his speeches:
"Do you know if you keep eating cows, eventually they will become extinct?"
"Does working with cattle make you a redneck?"
"How do baby cows get born?"
Aside from the awesome questions Daddy got, Little Guy had a blast playing with Noah, seeing Auntie Cari, and petting the bunny rabbits.  He was in awe, literally, over all the cattle, goats, sheep, horses, chickens, rabbits, and children everywhere he turned.  It was a fun day, the best part being he got to hang with his Dada!

Little MIss Pey Pey

Here's a quick update on what we've been doing and then a much needed photo montage to that sweet baby girl we can't get enough of!  We have had a busy weekend, complete with baby visits, selling our last bit of dining room furniture (bittersweet as it was the first "adult" furniture we purchased together, but we're making room for our amazing table being crafted by my dad!), celebrating Auntie Erin's birthday with a delicious dinner, starting our appliance shopping for the kitchen remodel, and then rounding out the weekend accompanying Auntie Katie, Uncle Mark, and Peyton, along with Gigi and Papa, on their first field trip out of the house to Cold Stone for a much needed sno-cone fix!  Phew, I am almost looking forward to a restful Monday, EXCEPT for the fact I have to do my six month glucose screening after my doctor check-up, GROSSNESS!

A foreshadowing to our soon to be family of four.  Peyton is just hours old here!

Great Grandma Jean with two of her three great grand children.  Pretty soon she'll have four!  Little Guy is starting to love the camera and knows when to say cheese!

Cousins...It's usually Little Guy crying when we try to stage of photo of the two of them...little do they know how many photos their future holds!

We were trying out the bench and both decided it is so comfy we may never leave our table!

Little Guy can't get enough of his "odd ball" as he likes to pronounce Olive's name and loved giving her Sunday morning snuggles.  I am not sure she loves it, but she tolerates it like the great dog she is :)

Neccesories

You'd think I was the one who gave birth just 4 short days ago the way I am floating around on a new baby high :) I am still in awe that my baby sister is a mommy and we have a sweet little girl to start spoiling with "neccesories"- that's a necessary accessory, and truth be told, aren't all accessories really neccesories??? Here are a few shots of our sweet little Pey-Pey in some neccesories!

She's here!!!!!!

Little Miss Peyton Taylor Mirchandani was born this morning at 6:19! Her mommy was serious about this labor and got her out with only 9 minutes of pushing!!! We couldn't be more in awe of the new mommy and daddy or more in love with my sweet little new niece!!!!! Happy birthday Baby Mirch!!!!!!!

Pease and Tank Yoouuuu

Teaching Little Guy manners is something I take pretty seriously- who doesn't especially love a little kiddo's "please and thank yous"? Well, it was "easy" to teach please, as Little Guy quickly learned that if he wanted something, he needed to add "please" to the end of his request....he's really mastered "pease", sometimes making in incredibly difficult to say "no" to his darling pleas. Thank you was a little harder to teach, but thanks to my Starbucks obsession and our local Starbucks drive thru, Little Guy heard me saying thank you every morning and started parroting me. Now he's skilled in "pease" and "tank yooouuu"- it warms my heart every time I hear him use his manners. Thanks Starbucks!

Baby On Board!

I've been aware of this pregnancy for 159 days, but it wasn't until last night that I realized we only have three full months (plus the remainder of March and hopefully not much of July) to get things ready for baby #2!  I switched into nesting mommy mode and had Daddy lug all the newborn gear in from the garage.  Little Guy is in heaven with all the new gadgets to play with and I am shocked at some of the stuff I held on to, like the packaging for the portable eating tray, who needs that???  Anyways, baby preparation has started and I am getting more and more anxious to meet this little fella or gal!  Truth be told, I cannot wait to start nursing another baby (call me crazy, but I miss it!)  Here's to readying the nest for baby #2!

Scrub a Dub Dub

Little Guy continues to crack me up all day every day.  Today I thought I would spice up our playtime with a little singing...remember how he used to love me singing???  Well now when I start to sing, he comes right up to my face and starts frantically saying "All done Mama, all done Mama"... until I stop.  I thought it was a fluke at first, but upon further investigation, it was in fact my singing that he was "all doneing"...it's a good thing he's got cuteness on his side or I may have been seriously offended :)  Later that night we were goofing around at bath time- it's pretty precious how he'll mimic anything you say or do...which is also something to be keep in mind as we say or do anything around here.

A Perfect Day

You know those days that just seem to go perfectly...nothing great happens, but everything just feels right and you are able to enjoy every moment??  Well we had one of those days, and I just can't stop basking in how peaceful I feel.  Nothing major happened, but it started off with a baby that slept in until 6:50!  Yes, he fell asleep at 7:05 PM and woke at 6:50 AM; I was a little lost as to what to do with my extra alone time this morning.  We had a healthy light breakfast, played together, posted a few items on Craigslist and then headed to Kids Gone Wild with Noah and his mommy.  Little Guy had a blast running, climbing, and even conquering the giant slide by himself.  We came home happy and worn out, enjoyed our lunch outside on the porch (Little Guy had hummus for the first time and LIKED it!) and then did some quiet play time before heading upstairs for naps.  Little Guy needed about 2 minutes to fall asleep and then conked out for 2 hours!  We headed out to our first sale, SUCCESS, and then Daddy came home "early" to play and go in the hot tub!  Next up we sold the dining room table to make room for the amazing table Papa is making us, Little Guy did an incredible job eating his dinner (this is a praise worthy feat every night!), and we had plenty of wind down time just the three of us reading books after bath time.  Little Guy protested bed for three minutes and was out!  It's now 7:30 and my dear husband is grabbing me a sandwich so I don't have to cook and then we get to snuggle up and catch up on some recorded TV....I can only hope tomorrow brings me even half as much peace and serenity that today did, I feel very blessed!

Magic Eraser

I am in love with the magic eraser.  While I have been procrastinating cleaning up Little Guy's latest crayon shenanigans, I came across of friend's Facebook post swearing by the magic eraser.  I bought the bulk pack from Home Depot and I have not been disappointed.  My next project is the spilled hot pink nail polish in our bathroom....I'll report back!

Busy Sunday

We started off our Sunday with a special breakfast with Grandma, Grandpa, and Great Grandma Dorothy.  Little Guy was excited to play with everyone and zoom the cars all around the hardwood floor.  Little Guy fell asleep on the way home and Daddy took over so I could go to a special Mama's To Be Tea with three other special mamas, our own mamas, my aunt, and my grandma!  It was a great time organized by my aunt Colleen.  We're hoping it's the last time we're all together as four preggos- Katie needs to have her baby PRONTO!  I rushed back into town after lunch for our second meeting with the kitchen designer.  I am so excited that everything is coming along- we finished up all the blueprints for the cabinets, next up we'll look at counter tops and tile.  It's certainly a LONG process, but we can't wait to see the finished product.  Little Guy was lucky enough to have a play date with the Santopadres while we were working on the kitchen.  He was a little sad at first when Daddy left, but he soon found entertainment in the piano, the puppet shows, and his three buddies!  He loves playing at Auntie Heather's house :)

Sunny Days

Today was Jackson's 2nd birthday!  I am not sure how's he's already TWO!!  It seems like yesterday that we were waiting for the call to find out if Heather had had a boy or a girl...Well Mr. Man, we are so excited that we got to celebrate with you at your Sesame Street Birthday party!
Jackson and Little Guy June 2012 at Sesame Street Live
We followed up Jackson's birthday with a birthday dinner for Papa.  Daddy brought the steak and it turned out to be delicious (no surprise there!) and Auntie Katie made dessert lasagna...we justified it because we're pregnant, but I am pretty sure it needs to be a one time thing, it was dangerous!  Little Guy got to swim with Papa in the hot tub and had a blast playing with Tyson.  Weighing in at 160 pounds, Tyson is Little Guy's personal pony and he doesn't mind if Little Guy lays all over him.  What a special Saturday celebrating two of our favorite people!

Park Date

It was a beautiful day for a little park play date with our friends Noah and Landon.  Little Guy loves to run around with his buddies and it was nice to get a little sunshine in as well.  We followed up our fun play date with a long nap and a special visit from Lizzy Bug and her mommy.  Little Guy gets so excited when he sees Lizzy and he LOVES to say her name.  Lizzy might not share his excitement for chase, but that doesn't stop Little Guy from trying to start a game of chase every time he sees her.  What a nice Friday and a great way to start a VERY busy weekend!
