On the move

Mr. Wyatt Bear is officially on the move- he does a GREAT army crawl and now likes to get up on his hands and knees and rock.  He hasn't figured out how to move when he's up on his hands and knees, but I am sure it's just a few weeks away.  Little Guy was officially crawling on his hands and knees and 7.5 months, and Mr. Wyatt Bear is just 7 months so I think they might be on the same path.  As much as I love to see our littlest dude meeting these milestones, I know life is about to get one thousand percent crazier once he's really mobile.

Gym Day Care

Now that Mr. Wyatt Bear is 6 months old, I can bring both the boys to the gym daycare to hit up a class...I think I secretly liked having an excuse not to hit up the classes, but I guess there's no time like the present to get in shape (ugh...).  I was certain that Little Guy would hate it and I would be called out of class early to come get him and guess what I was right...kind of...I was called out of class early, but Little Guy was nowhere near tears, he was having a grand ol' time (that might be a stretch, but he wasn't crying)...it was my sweet Mr. Wyatt Bear that was not having anything to do with gym daycare!  As soon as he got into his mama's arms he smiled and coo'd and the tears dried up, and as soon as his brother saw me, he burst into tears and had to be consoled to catch his breath...oh yikes, I think the boys might have my back on this whole workout class thing, I haven't made it through a whole class yet, and I am not complaining.

Cows Eat...what???

Little Guy is all boy...we already knew that.  But now he's not just all boy with his energy and love for all things that go fast, he's all boy with his love for all things poo-poo...Yep, he thinks it's HILARIOUS when you ask him what cows eat and he responds "Poo-poo"...and he loves to let the dogs out to go poo-poo, and if he can throw away a poopy diaper he's in seventh heaven (that one I actually like!).  Oh buddy boy, you are certainly all boy, and we love it.

Preschool Tours

Grab the tissues, a big bottle of Valium, and a tall glass of wine...this mommy can't believe her baby will be old enough to go to preschool this fall.  I am not sure (actually I am positive I am not) if I am ready for this, but he seems to be all for it and my most important job is helping him become his best person, so I am wiping my tears and heading out to find the perfect place for him to enter academia...and speaking of academia, I am finding that not all preschools think playtime is important or that toddlers still benefit from ample time to run, explore, and navigate the world of sharing.  We've looked at a few sites and have fallen in love with two and ruled one out- with one more tour to go, we'll have some tough decisions to make this next month...yes, fall registration begins in March...oh sweet boy, I can't wait to see you grow into your own little person, but I am still a bit sad that you're growing up so fast.

Happy Birthday to the Man I Love

Happy Happy Birthday to the man we are lucky to call Daddy and Husband.  We are so excited that we got to spend all day celebrating you!  From the champagne brunch to the trampoline park excursion, Little Guy and Daddy nap time, and family dinner to boot, it was a perfect day, which is exactly what you deserve!  We can't to see what 35 brings your way...We love you Daddy!

Who the Flock is 40?

We wanted to help Auntie Cari get into the birthday spirit as she was about to turn the big 4-0, so we headed out for a late night mission...to flock her house!  Heather organized the whole thing and after just a few minutes of stealth flocking, her house was in tip top celebratory style.  We can't wait to celebrate her this weekend...Happy Birthday Auntie Cari!

6 month photo shoot

We had Mr. Wyatt Bear's six month photo shoot today.  I know we're a little late, but between our photographer getting hit with the flu and Mr. Wyatt Bear's very recent ability to steadily sit up, it worked out well that we waited.  I decided to do all the photos naked or just in a cloth diaper...speaking of cloth diapers, since I had to get them out I decided to give my little babe a chance in the cloth...I am already regretting the triple (at least!) amount of laundry I gave myself...back to the photos.  Mr. Wyatt Bear was a stud (of course) and gave us tons of great smiles.  Little Guy wanted so badly to be in on the action and I had plans for great brother photos that would eventually end up framed in my guest bathroom.  Well, it figures that as soon as it was time to do the duo shots, Little Guy wanted nothing to do with posing on the backdrop or facing the camera...He finally decided to participate when he could hold his whole apple in every photo...we'll see how those come out.  I can't wait to see Mr. Wyatt Bear's chunky legs and bare bottom in print, I just can't get enough of them!

Happy Birthday

Today we went to my grandma and grandpa's house to celebrate Uncle Mike's birthday since he's in from Indiana.  Family parties have always been something I look forward to, but now that Little Guy and Mr. Wyatt Bear have cousins, second cousins, and pseudo cousins to run around with, it's even more fun!  We were able to snap up a few photos of the great grandparents with the four grand babies- we're so lucky to have such a close family, I hope our boys love the family time as much as we do!

Frozen

Today we went and saw Frozen-Little Guy was in heaven in his own chair with his own box of popcorn... Mr. Wyatt Bear wasn't too sure about the dark theater or the loud noises but after 20 minutes of and in and out bouncy time, he decided he was ready to watch the movie.  He also decided that during the movie would be a really good time to experiment with his voice to see how loud he could yell, laugh, and cry.  We didn't have to worry about the volume since there were children talking behind us...the joys of kiddo movies.  When it was all done Little Guy asked for another one- he hadn't taken his eyes off the screen or his bottom out of the chair.  I'd say our first new release feature film movie theater experience was a success!

Tastes So Good

I am just mesmerized by this baby that eats...Little Guy NEVER took to food until after he was well over one year old, so to see a baby want to eat food is a bit of shock in this house.  Mr. Wyatt Bear is always up for a little dinnertime, but it never fails that after the first taste he flinches back and gags like you just fed his poison...and then he's quickly grabbing for more.  He certainly has an appetite to keep up with those chubby thighs.  Total foods to date include carrots, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, apples, bananas, and a few tastes of avocado- other than the avocado, everything has been a hit.

Pooper Scooper

Little Guy is obsessed with picking up poop...he wants to do it all day every day.  He's usually content to wait for daddy to get home, but today when I came in from the garage I spotted this outside (and yes, it's unseasonably warm for January, that's why he's without pants)...Little Guy decided he'd pick up the poop with his personal shovel...and if a piece fell off, he'd just pick that up with his personal hand...I m glad he's so eager to help daddy with this outside chore, but I think it needs to en closely supervised....in the meantime, the shovels were put in the shed and extra wipes and hand washing happened next.

Book of Mormon

Extra!  Extra!! Read all about it!!!  My bestie and I have a photo together...of the two of us...doing something adultish...in the city...on a school night...what?!?!?!?  Crazy, I know!  Heather and I hit up The Book of Mormon this evening and Oh.My.Gosh was it hilarious and such a great night out! We both loved the play and admitted to feeling almost guilty laughing at some of the utter inappropriateness of it all- we had amazing seats and pre-ordered champagne for intermissions, it really couldn't have gotten much better.  From our perfectly timed BART trains, to the unseasonably warm city weather, pre-show entertainment on our trains, and six uninterrupted hours of girlfriend time...I think I see an annual trip in the making!

Amoxicillan

Our sweet love just couldn't seem to kick the cold we had all gotten on Christmas so I decided it was time to call the doctor.  Since he had just been seen for his six month appointment last week, the doctor didn't feel it was necessary to trek him back into the germy hospital, so he called in our Amoxicillan and inhaler and we were all set.  It appears Mr. Wyatt Bear's cold turned into a sinus infection and got hung up in his lungs as well.  So far the medicine seems to be helping, but he still has a cold so the antibiotics can only do so much...poor baby, between the syringe of medicine, the snot sucker, the inhaler, and general achyness that comes from a cold, it's amazing that he is still smiling ALL THE TIME!  Oh sweet Mr. Wyatt Bear, you are one tough cookie!

Loving Life

We hit up the park today for a play date with our buddy Lizzy Bug.  Mr. Wyatt Bear was so happy in the swing, it made Little Guy laugh so hard and I couldn't help but snap a ton of pictures!  The older two had a great time running and sliding; Little Guy continues to have NO fear on the playground and his mother continues to have mini heart attacks as she watches him scale the rock wall, rush down the giant slide, or attempt a no handed jump off the platform...

Rub a Dub Dub

Mr. Wyatt Bear sat up in the tub. For the first time I took off the mesh sling and our little babe just sat in the bath tub, chilling with his wash cloth. He's always lobed his bath and today was no exception! I'm still sticking with the baby bath in the kitchen sink since it saves my back, but now he's got a little more freedom to splash around.

We went to Evan and Ryan's second birthday bash today....Little Guy and Landon were able to reach the cookies unassisted and probably consumed at least 3 sugar cookies each ( and they were LARGE "2" cookies) and then went on to have monster cupcakes...Little Guy ate the frosting, announced he was "all done" and then passed out in the car....after naps and delivery pizza, both boys were in bed by 6:30. Here's to hopefully sleeping in a little tomorrow morning to start our week off right....

Playtime With Miss P

We got to spend the week with two of our favorite ladies, Miss P and Auntie.  She is quite fascinated with Mr. Wyatt Bear and LOVES to climb on him and touch his eyeballs...he's not too sure of this last bit, but he loves the attention.  It's always a circus in our house and three babies just adds to the fun!  We did lots of bath time, tummy time, afternoon walks, and a visit to the Nut Tree with Gigi...we can't wait for our next sleep over!

New Kicks

Little Guy got some new kicks today and I think Mommy is just as excited about how easy they are to get on as Little Guy is for the light up Percy and Thomas charms...Here he is sporting his new Lego Crocs.  We hit up the Nut Tree with Pey Pey, Auntie and Gigi but the train was already closed and all Little Guy wanted to ride was the elephant or dinosaur (tiger) but he's too little to ride on the outside so he had to settle for the rabbit.  He got to sit on the elephant after the ride and he wasn't amused when the ride didn't go and all he got to do was sit...sorry buddy, these early winter nights make everything close down early!

We've Got A Jumper

Little Guy is officially jumping out of his crib.  I thought it was a fluke the first time it happened (1/6/13 pictured below), but it's now an everyday occurrence during or after nap time.  The first time he did it I didn't see him get out of his crib, I just glanced on the monitor and saw he was not in his crib, but Olive was still laying in her bed, so I wasn't completely terrified.  I panned the room and saw him climbing on top of his dresser to get the "soap" otherwise known as lotion.  Somewhere around 10 pumps he decided he was clean enough and left the room...pretty soon I heard the baby crying and couldn't figure out what woke him up....Little Guy came down the stairs and when I went up to console the baby I couldn't open the door because the handle was too slippery- apparently Little Guy had tried to get in to the room and that alone was enough to wake the baby...During our week with Peyton, he jumped out and decided to go visit Miss P right after Auntie had spent a LONG time getting her down.  All you could hear on the monitor was him talking and her giggling before he left the room and she started wailing and he loudly informed us from the top of the stairs that Pey Pey was sad...I wonder why???  Well, now I am laying next to Little Guy until he falls asleep to assure he doesn't jump right out...oh the joys of nap time.

2014...Soda No More

2014 is going to be the year I kick soda...no soda at all for 365 days!  This may be an easy feat for some, but I CRAVE soda some days and when you've been nursing or preggos for the last three years, you've come to rely on soda to kick it up a notch when everyone else is drinking wine and you're bored with water...I know soda is something I shouldn't have and certainly don't need and after seeing the IMMEDIATE shift in swelling when I cut soda out during my last pregnancy, I am convinced that there really can't be any good that comes from my can of Coke.  Here's to an abundance of lemonade and hopefully a better water regime!

Great Train Expo

Today I took my two favorite conductors to the Great Train Expo.  I am pretty sure this may have been the best day in Little Guy's life thus far.  We arrived in Richmond after our morning naps with Little Guy all decked out in his Thomas gear and ready to see some choo choos.  The model train world is a whole different ball game, these people are serious about their trains!   Little Guy would have spent all day and night there, but Mr. Wyatt Bear was getting hungry and tired, so after three hours we had to say good bye.  It was a rough good-bye, Little Guy was quite sad to bid farewell to the hot dog train!

Half a Year Old!

Mr. Wyatt Bear is half a year old already!?!?  How is it that the happiest baby around is 6 months old today?  This mama still feels like he's brand new!!  We had his 6 month appointment and he weighed in at 17.1 pounds!  Little Guy weighed the exact same at 6 months, but Mr. Wyatt Bear appears to be chunkier- I think it's the thighs.  He weathered the shots like a champ and is still feeling a little under the weather from his cold, but 6 months looks great on this smiling guy!  Happy Half Birthday Mr. Wyatt Bear, you make our days brighter with your grin and our hearts smile with your giggle.  We love you!

Scootin' With Papa

Since it had been a whole year since Gigi and Papa had been over, they decided a post nap play date was in order.  We had spent our morning picking out a new mattress (riveting for the kiddos), so they were VERY excited to see their surprise guests when they woke up.  Little Guy and Papa took the plasma car for a spin as only they know how...double decker style!  It was a fun afternoon Gigi and Papa, but next time you don't have to wait a whole year to visit :)
