My three favorites

Life can get chaotic and stressful and sometimes just a little bit crazy, but it's moments like these, when you see exactly what it is your living for that remind you to take a deep breath and enjoy every moment...because even the most stressful crazy moments are special when you're spending them with your three favorite boys ever!
Morning snuggles before family breakfast at Black Bear Diner...how did I get so lucky??

Baby Cha Milk

Little Guy's vocabulary seems to be doubling in size every day.  He is mimicking anything you say (scary!!) and really into narrating whatever it is we're doing at the moment (this is precious now, I may be able to see how it could start to wear on the nerves).  He is also becoming more and more infatuated with his little brother and everything he does.  He constantly checks in on the baby and always wants to know where he is if he can't see him.  Well today I finished up nursing Mr. Wyatt and was also giving Little Guy a bath (Daddy's out of town), when Little Guy announced "Baby all done cha milk".  I've tried explaining that Little Guy gets different milk than Mr. Wyatt and Mr. Wyatt drinks milk from Mommy just for babies...and apparently I make "cha milk" just for babies too.

Hurry Home

It must be September, or at least pretty gosh darn close!  Daddy has started his weekly trips up to Oregon, and while we all miss seeing Daddy everyday, Mommy especially misses him at bedtime!  It never fails that someone (mommy included) ends up having a melt down right around bath time.  I decided to try to avoid a complete disaster by only bathing Little Guy tonight...that worked in theory until Mr. Wyatt decided he hadn't had enough rocking and was not content in his bed...and Little Guy wanted all his choo-choos in the bath tub...and a glass of cha milk...well, after scrubbing down a toddler, rocking a newborn, and sweating off at least one scoop of ice cream, I had a sleeping newborn and a toddler ready for bed.  It was a little later than I had planned, and for the first (and hopefully the last!!!) time Little Guy took some milk to bed...I know that is the WORST for little teeth, but by the end of it all (including two separate trips downstairs for "wa-wa" and "cha milk"), I gave in...then the mommy guilt kept nagging at me so I tip toed into his room and took the cup after he fell asleep.  All I can say is Daddy better hurry home before our teeth rot out :)

Best Purchase EVER

found an awesome Craigslist score while visiting my parents this weekend...a train table all set up and glued down with MANY train pieces to play with.  We waited to show Little Guy until Monday morning, having a feeling he would want to play with it right away.  He not only wanted to play with it right away, I had to tear him away to go to Kids Gone Wild, and only if I went in to see him did he ever make a peep all day.  I am not sure if the novelty will wear off or if this kid just seriously loves choo-choos that much, but either way, I'll take the quiet time that does not involve movies or TV!

She's Going to the Chapel

My sister is getting married and we wanted to CELEBRATE...and in true new mommy fashion! We hit up Indian Springs Spa in Calistoga for a day of relaxation and girl time (with the exception on one handsome fella named Mr. Wyatt!).  It could not have been nicer weather and with all the yummy snacks and "passion fruit" tea Lauren organized, it was a great way to send Katie off into marriagehood.  Mr. Wyatt and Pey Pey were angels, and yet people still complained and made us move to the family pool- we were avoiding this area since we were such a large group and Katie may have had a bachelorette appropriate straw for her sangria, I mean punch...The massages were awesome, I heard the mud baths were a little awkward, and the dinner divine.  I can't wait for the big day in just two short weeks!!!!

Let's Go Oakland

Last Christmas, yes, almost 9 months ago, we drew my Grandma's name for our Christmas drawing.  Gabe was adamant that we give her Giants tickets, they had after all just won the World Series.  Well, we have a bad habit of giving gifts for future activities and then getting busy and not getting them done.  We weren't going to let that happen to Grandma so we looked at the schedule and then decided with the Giants being 14 or so games out of first place, we should see the A's instead.  And if you know my husband, he's always looking for the best way to enjoy something...pan left, and yes, we hit up the A's game in a luxury mini suite!  It was AWESOME.  I will admit I protested a little at first, thinking it was a bit much, but having three kiddos in there (two of them spent the majority of the time napping on the couch!) running around and having a grand ol' time made it perfect.  The best part was it was a surprise and everybody was pretty jazzed to be in a box!  We may skip out on the BART ride next time, it was bit much with the stroller, but I think we may be on to something...now if only Oakland can make it to the post season, I think we'll be back in October!

Happy Birthday Wesley

Sweet Wesley Boy...Little Guy....Weseroni....Sweet Bear....Buddy...Brother....Wesley Simon DeTar, no matter what we call you, you are one amazing little boy and today you are TWO!  We had a huge Elmo party to celebrate this milestone and you were so excited to have all your friends at your house.  You were a hot sweaty mess all afternoon (in part to the fact our air conditioner broke), but you didn't want to take a break from the action so you skipped out on swimming.  We had a pinata again this year and you did an awesome job whacking away...of course when the candy came out, you stepped over all the wrapped sweets and found a stale goldfish stuck in the crack of the garage floor and that's what you chose to snack on :) When asked how old you are, you reply "Elmo 2", letting everyone know you had an Elmo party and you're two and then you put up both pointer fingers to show them you're two.  Wesley Simon, I didn't know it was possible to love a child the way we love you and your brother, but loving you is the best job I could ever ask for and I am amazed every day at what a special little boy you are growing up to be.  Mommy and Daddy love you more than you could ever imagine and we can't wait to see what year two has in store!

The Terrific Twos

Today we went to Mr. Noah's second birthday.  It was a great time for all- we had unlimited train and merry go round rides and the boys had a blast running all over the Nut Tree.  Little Guy and Landon ventured around together, it was pretty sweet to see them holding hands.  We never could get a picture with all our friends, these kiddos are getting trickier to photograph as they get closer and closer to two.

I spent the rest of the day preparing for tomorrow's big event...Little Guy's Elmo birthday party!  Heather came over to save me from myself and my cupcake frosting, cookie glazing, party decorating work load!  We finished in record time (including a break for pedicures!!)...10 PM, well before last year's post midnight cake topper flag making session we had!  I can't wait to see Little Guy with all his buddies tomorrow and to celebrate two years of parenthood...I think Gabe and I have done a pretty alright job so far!  Good night to my precious one year old boy...tomorrow we start our journey into the wonderful world of the "terrific twos"...that's what they call it right, the "terrific twos"??

Kids gone wild Thursday

We had a special celebration in the middle of birthday week, Noah's actual birthday!  We spent the morning being wild and crazy at Kids Gone Wild- I love going there lately as Little Guy really needs a place to burn off energy and he can now climb onto everything on his own so I can hold Mr. Wyatt and cheer on Little Guy at the same time.  Mr. Wyatt was, like usual, a champ all morning- here he is all packed up ready to go and looking much older than his six week old self!
Check out the split screen down below- Landon and Wesley last winter (Decemberish 2012) and now, August 2013- crazy how big these boys have gotten!  It seems like just yesterday we had bald babies barely able to toddle through the infant play area and now they are conquer the giant slide like it's nothing...slow down boys, your mommies aren't ready for you to be quite so big!

Birthday Week Continues with a Muddy Park Playdate

We continued our birthday week celebrations with a three hour park play date, complete with suckers, sweat, and a whole lot of mud.  I still can't believe my baby will be TWO in four short days!!!  You know your boys are turning two when they can run full steam for an entire morning and then crash for a three hour nap after lunch :)  Little Guy thoroughly enjoyed his lollipop ( I think it may have been his second one of his lifetime) and then found the only puddle of standing water on the entire sprawl of grass and sat in it...then Landon joined him and dangled his feet in it...then we stripped down and went home.  Mr. Wyatt bear spent the morning snoozing in the Ergo, life is good!

Napping Breakthrough!

I have BBBIIIIGGGGG news as Little Guy would say....one week before his 2nd birthday, Little Guy is napping in his own crib!!!  We have been co-napping since our Disneyland vacation in February and while I knew it would have been in everyone's best interest to get napping under control before Wyatt Bear was born, I just couldn't justify the days or weeks of no napping that would come with trying to get Little Guy on board with napping in his crib.  So I continued my daily nap routine that included packing both boys into the car around noon and driving around until Little Guy fell asleep while hoping that Mr. Wyatt didn't decide to have a screaming fit at the same time...well I decided to talk to Little Guy and see if we couldn't try napping in a crib...guess what, there were a few tears when I laid him down then with a little reassurance over the video monitor he laid down and took a nap...he slept during the day in his own crib...I wasn't sure what to do with my time, but I decided not to count my chickens and make sure it wasn't a one day fluke...I am happy to report, it's now official, we have a napper!!!!!  And it only took 23 months and 3 weeks to get us here :)

Wild Animals

We had a jam packed fun filled day today!  It always shapes up to be an adventure when Gigi spends the night so we can start our Fridays off extra early, and today we were right on time getting out of the house and to breakfast by 9 AM ( oh the small things in life!).  After a quick stop at Crepeville, we headed out to the zoo...I am not sure if Little Guy was more excited to see birds, ride the train, or sit next to Mr. Wyatt in the stroller- all things we can do without ever leaving Vacaville.  Anyways, we went ahead on our adventure and it ended up being a great time.

Little Guy was pooped but of course, decided that all he needed for the day was a quick power nap in the car.  We rounded out our afternoon with a GREAT three hour nap from Mr. Wyatt (we took advantage of this time and built a fort, FUN!), a quick trip to the neighborhood park with Daddy and Lizzy, and then some good night stories with brother.  Little Guy was insistent on having Mr. Wyatt in his lap while he read, and here's what happened when the book got a little too close to poor Wyatt's head.

I finished up my day with a late night trip to the grocery store and I am not sure why this has me feeling blue, but I bought 2% milk and I felt a bit sad...our baby will be two in nine days and his growing body has already advanced past whole milk...let's blame the hormones, you know you're a little bit of a mess when cow's milk can make you cry.

Running Errands

With a toddler's second birthday to plan, a sister's wedding in the works, and a newborn's feeding schedule to keep, it's a wonder I get any sleep or change into clean clothes...ever!  Today my mom came by to sit with Little Guy while he napped so I could get a jump on errands.  Let me just say for the record, I hate running errands when the list is too long to remember them all and you are battling the less than desirable crowds at the nearest mall.  That being said, I got A LOT done today and am happy to cross off a few more things as we get into last minute countdowns to two of the biggest celebrations we have yet to see for 2013!

Final Farewell Playdate

We hit up Six Flags today for a final farewell to summer playdate- Lizzy came out for the first time, along with Landon, and Mr. Wyatt was able out of the uterus this time :)  Little Guy was really excited to show his brother the choo choo and animals.  I ventured there on my own (knowing I was meeting up with friends and my sister made it seem like a reasonable task!) and I have to say that minus the toddler melt down on the way back to the car, it was a pretty successful "solo" trip!

One month young

I like to set imaginary deadlines for myself...like I want to have birth announcements sent out before my baby is one month old...and I have to say with great satisfaction that our Baby Wyatt is one month old today and his announcements did in fact go out yesterday!!!!!  I made my self imposed deadline AND the majority of people received them today.  I doubt many people realized they arrived on the actual one month marking of his birth, but I know they did and that's enough for me :)  That being said, even more important than the announcements is the fact that our newborn baby is ONE MONTH OLD!!!  I was just telling Gabe at bath time that I can't believe our baby is one month, it seems like yesterday I was begging for that epidural minutes before he came into the world!  I will never be okay with how parenthood seems to speed up everything, and now that our lives are filled with two miracles, I want for nothing more than to slow time down.  Baby Wyatt, you have brought more joy into our family than we thought possible.  We both wondered how we could fit more love into our already seemingly filled hearts, and then we laid eyes on you and knew it was a true blessing to be able to love two babies more than life itself.  Your big brother can simply not get enough of you; we have watched him mature so much in the one month you've been alive and you've slowly started to take note of him, something that makes him very excited!  We love you Baby Wyatt, happy one month birthday!!!
