Merry Christmas

This year we headed over to Mission Solano to help with the food feast during Christmas Eve day and then over to the Emigh Christmas Eve celebration.  We managed to fit a gift exchange in with Grandma and Papa and a playdate with Patrick as well.  The time at Mission Solano was wonderful- it was great having our whole family there to serve and an experience I am hoping we can share in again, hopefully more often than just the holiday season.  The gift exchanging and Christmas Eve festivities went well too- the boys loved the visit from Santa and Walker enjoyed his first Christmas celebration.  Gabe and I wrapped up the night with some Christmas duties and off to bed everyone went, happy and healthy...well I woke up feeling not good and after trying to convince myself it was just exhaustion (a nap did not help!) I started to feel worse and worse as the day went on.  I didn't get a picture of the Santa gifts, the boys' expressions opening stockings, or a family selfie in our holiday jammies...nothing but me miserably laying on the couch trying not to ruin everyone's time.  We managed to hit up Candy Cane lane even though I hadn't ate anything all day and then I barely made it home before I was sick sick sick...by the next morning I felt much better and then learned that 21 people from our Christmas Eve celebration had fallen ill and three days post Christmas both my parents ended up sick as well...whatever went through the party was knarly and I am soooo happy I was the only one who got it!  Until next year, this will be what we have for Christmas memories and the only documentation of Walker's first Christmas!

All aboard the Christmas Train

We boarded the Christmas Express with the Mirch mob and although it was raining, we had an awesome night that included dinner at Dos Coyotes, a carpool adventure in the minivan, music, dancing, fist pumps with Santa, hot chocolate, and way too many cookies!  When can we do it all again?!?

PEP Christmas Performance

Today was Wesley's second PEP Christmas Program and this year he really rocked it!  He loved singing and looked ADORABLE in his "hand"made holly wreath crown.  They serenaded the parents with tunes they've been practicing for weeks and then gifted us with a mistletoe canvas. The man himself met us for cookies and juice and then we all headed out to lunch with Peyton and her mama and daddy.  Christmas break has officially begun!

Santa Claus is coming to Town

Our visits with Santa this year included a stop over at the Nut Tree and a special visit from the man himself at PEP's Christmas program.  Wyatt wasn't too sure the first go around, but after a little convincing from his brother and realizing that Santa is the man who will bring him choo choos, he jumped in his lap at their next meeting.  Walker was indifferent and Wesley would have spent all day with him if he had had the time.

Euro Cool

This dude is cutting molars and drools ALL.THE.TIME. so we've invested in some cool scarfs and bandannas... Well, when I saw there was a matching pants option, we had to have them!  I can say without a doubt, that was a phenomenal decision, this dude is STYLING!  And since his brother refuses anything besides sweats and character shirts, I have to take every ounce of styling I can get with this one!

The Flu

Wyatt woke up in the middle of the night sick as a dog...it was the saddest thing to see him crying and covered in vomit.  He spent the rest of the night in my bed with me flinching and grabbing the garbage can every time he moved.  He woke up seeming 100% better, but he's staying home from school and resting until it's for sure out of his system.  Let's hope it doesn't spread through the family, right now we're all focused on keeping Walker healthy.

Horse Drawn Canned Food Drive

Today we went to the canned food drive that Melissa and Landon introduced us to last year.  Peyton and Auntie joined us at the last minute and away we all went on the trolley.  My kiddos decided they wanted to walk for a bit but we ended up not being able to keep up with the trolley and we were left walking the last quarter of the route...Wyatt being carried and Wesley being begged to keep walking.  It all ended on a high note when we got to pet the horses and take a few laps around the parking lot.

Christmas Tree Cutting

Today we made an extra fast, lightning speed, trip to the Christmas tree farm.  We wanted to get a tree before the rain set in, but the farm closed at dark, so with about 28 minutes of sunlight left, we started the hunt for the perfect tree.  We found one we loved, had some deliciously salty popcorn, and were on our way home to decorate it!  I love looking through our ornaments every year and this year the boys are especially excited to hang their personal ornaments up in their room.
