Locks of Love

Our morning started off nice and early (Little Guy thinks sleeping in is for wimps...) with both our boys in Mr. Wyatt Bear's crib.  We don't know how he does it, but whenever Little Guy goes in to get his brother, he manages to get in the crib.  It makes for a great morning photo op.
We followed up our early morning with a trip to Kids Gone Wild...we had A LOT of wiggling to get out and this is just the place to do it...while I was watching my boys play, I noticed Mr. Wyatt Bear's hair, and just how long his rat tail is getting!!!!!  I refuse to cut hair before the age one (Little Guy was well past two), but I think I'll be getting out my scissors July 3rd for a little clean up cut.

Rio 2

Every time we drive by the movie theatre, Little Guy asks to go see "Let it Go" (aka Frozen).  I explain that it's not in the theatre anymore, but other movies are...I decided today was a great day to go see one of those other movies.  There aren't many kiddo movies out so we decided on Rio 2. Thank goodness Gigi was free and wanted to come with us.  Mr. Wyatt Bear decided this would be a good place to practice his talking, and was more pleased with himself the louder and louder he got.  Little Guy was excited to eat popcorn and M&Ms.  We took a self imposed intermission to get our wiggles out and then Mr. Wyatt Bear and I decided to stay in the lobby.  No one made it to the end, but we had a great time.

Diaper Derby

The annual diaper derby was this weekend and we had high hopes for Mr. Wyatt Bear.  After his brother showed such promise two years ago only to crawl in the opposite direction at the bell, we were putting all our trophy hopes on this little dude.  Well, Mr. Wyatt Bear did not like the pressure and decided that crawling even one step away from his daddy was NOT going to happen.  It was a little anti-climatic, but we all had fun watching.  Our friend Miss Sofia took home first place, she bypassed the crawling all together and just walked to the finish line.

My Favorite Animals

Today we were on our way to Brady's graduation party when Little Guy informed us that is favorite animals are giraffes, lions, and sea horses...where does he get this stuff?  We had a blast celebrating in Martinez, especially with the boys and Miss Peyton in coordinating outfits...do you think we got a picture?  Of course not- between my boys napping before the party and putting us a little late and Peyton needing to nap after the party and leaving a little early, we didn't snap any photos.

It's a Girl

We had a gender reveal lunch for Erin today and the big news it out...Lizzy bug is going to have a little sister!  We're all so excited to meet the sweet little love in November.  Now it's time to start decorating that nursery!

Wooden Valley Winery

The local winery hosts a food truck Friday five times throughout the summer and we hit up the kick off event.  It was so fun to hang out with our friends and just nice to do something different so close to home.  Little Guy made friends with the three legged dog Luna and Mr. Wyatt Bear spilled Daddy's entire glass of wine.  I had the most amazing funnel cake and ribs and everybody loved the music.  We learned we need a few more chairs and to grab a table next time, but we're all looking forward to June!

Yogurt Thug

This dude is tough...or a total ham.  He loves to bite his yogurt spoon and thinks it's so funny when I try to get it back.  Mr. Wyatt Bear is our all star eater- his breakfast includes yogurt, pancakes or toast, fruit, a nursing session, and sometimes tofu...what a way to start the day.

Sesame Street Live

It was that time of year again, Sesame Street Live 2014!  We were so excited to have Miss P joining us this year, and as an added bonus Auntie and Gigi as well.  Little Guy was excited to be going to Elmo's house, but if we're being honest, he was REALLY siked to have Jack-Jack drive in his car....Heather and I agree we could have saved a lot of money and just drove them around for a few hours, however, that would not have given us all a chance to sing and dance with the Street Gang.  Mr. Wyatt Bear and Peyton weren't too sure about the characters, but everyone loved the show, especially since we were sitting front and center.  Until next year Elmo!

Slivers

Little Guy had been limping around on and off today...I chalked it up to his sometimes dramatic self wanting another band aid...I didn't think I needed to be any more concerned because every time we put on a new band aid, he walked away seemingly fine.  Finally, while he was limping around his bedroom looking for a bedtime story, I got the head lamp out and really looked at his foot.  He had a small sliver in the center of his foot, yep, that would make me limp too.  Daddy held him down while I got it with one pull with the tweezers.  It was painless, but of course leading up to the surgical moment we had full theatrics on our hands.  As soon as the sliver was out and he put weight on his foot, he turned and said "Thank you guys" with a huge smile on his face.  It was pretty precious to hear him thank us.  I love when Little Guy thinks to say thank you in response to a kind gesture or act, not just when he gets a gift or something handed to him.

Medicine

We made a quick run to Michael's today before heading to gymnastics...Little Guy was a wonderful helper and Mr. Wyatt Bear was his usual charming smily self.  While we were standing in line, I was silently congratulating my crew on a wonderful shopping outing, when I reached down to rub Little Guy's face...and my hand came up super greasy.  Then I noticed his hair, it looked like it had not been washed in 3 weeks.  I asked him what was on his face and hair and he told me "medicine".  I asked where he got the medicine and he told me him and Oddball had got the medicine together in the bathroom and then he had put it on both of them.  I was at a loss- I had smelled it, rubbed it, examined it, and could not figure out what it was.  Once we were home, a quick survey of the bathroom produced a tube of Eucerin ointment with an open lid and a very greasy tube.  Oh Little Guy, you keep it interesting.every.single.day.

Off the Grid and The Jem

We met up with friends in SF for the Off the Grid food truck extravaganza.  It was a beautiful day in the city, a little windy, but not a cloud in sight.  We were just below the Golden Gate bridge with sailboats and tankers littering the ocean.  Little Guy had a blast with the children and we all had a great time catching up with old friends.  We extended the fun and had Gigi and Papa over for dinner and popped one of our African wines.  It was delicious, I had two glasses.  My only question now is, when can we go back to pick up more???

His Oddball

He simply cannot get enough of his best friend Oddball...and by the looks of these photos, the feeling is mutual.

Happy Mother's Day

I decided what better way to celebrate Mother's Day than to return to last spot I visited before becoming a mother of two...Yep, Train Town :)  What a different experience it is to ride a Ferris Wheel WITHOUT contractions taking your breath away.  Little Guy and Mr. Wyatt Bear were EXCITED to head out and after morning naps we were on our way.  Gigi and Papa met up with us and we all had a blast in Sonoma ( I may have said I would like to live there, but Daddy quickly talked me out of that...)We hit up a darling tavern for lunch and the boys were both great dates for the day.  It was a perfect way to spend a Sunday.  From my Starbucks tumblers to the late afternoon swim, it was just what I wanted, to spend the day with my loves.

Pickles

We decided to hit up Davis for an early dinner and park play date.  Little Guy brought his bike and loved zooming around and climbing high before heading over to Burgers and Brews for dinner.  We were seated in the back outdoor corner- usually one may take offense to being seated in the corner, but we request it.  With a toddler and a baby, the corner helps us keep everyone contained.  Mr. Wyatt Bear has a reputation for eating just about anything I give him and tonight was no exception- we let him try pickles, thinking he would hate them, and to our somewhat surprise, he LOVED them.  Oh sweet bear, you are already eating us out of house and home, what will we do in the teenage years???
