Sunriver 2014

We finally did it!  We took a family vacay to Sunriver and let me just say, it lived up to all the hype!  We started our journey at 2 AM on Thursday morning, yes TWO AM in the morning...it was a little rough getting going, but as we carried Little Guy to the car, he poked his head up and said "We going to Sunriver???" and that was all I needed to get me through the eight hour drive!  Both boys did remarkably well, sleeping for a bulk of the trip, and handling potty breaks like a champ, and everyone was ready for fun when we rolled into Bend right before lunch time.  The time in Bend was a little tough, we were all tired and happened to arrive on one of the hottest days of the year so our hike to the park was a bit of a challenge.  Nonetheless, we finally made it to Sunriver just in time to prepare our first dinner of the week.  Little Guy and Mr. Wyatt Bear were instantly in love with the outdoors and the fact we were RIGHT NEXT DOOR to Jack-Jack's house!  We spent the next week biking (some bike rides may have been further and tougher than others!), playing at Fort Rock Park, splashing at the SHARC, exploring the rivers and towns, and just enjoying our time together with our family and friends.  We loved the nightly trips to Goody's for ice cream and the movie nights on the porch.  Daddy enjoyed some fishing and a round of golf (Mommy even tagged along for a post round cocktail!) and Little Guy spent some time riding a bike with training wheels...what!?!?  Mr. Wyatt Bear mastered standing up unassisted so he is officially walking EVERYWHERE, meaning he can get to that pack of sidewalk chalk a lot quicker than we imagined....We had a slight mix up with the checkout date ( I need to reread papers before marking my calender), but even with a much speedier than planned pack up and a departure time that did not correlate with naps or bedtime, we made it home safe and sound with only one side of the road potty break and a quick stop to change into jammmies and let Daddy finish the driving. We are already planning next year's trip, and can't wait to share Sunriver with everyone!

On the road somewhere in Oregon and stopping for breakfast in Klamath Falls

You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream

Downtown in the village there are rocks to climb, perfect for our little adventure seekers.

Emme and Mr. Wyatt Bear were the best of friends.  She loved playing seahorse with him.

Little Guy and his best buddy Jack Jack...these boys go head to head all day in fun and mischief

Outdoor movie night- Uncle Chris was a trooper for packing everything, even the projector screen!

We love our Sunriver garb!

Family photo after the rather long and hot bike ride to the waterfall...the guys were pulling the bike trailers, I can't imagine...

Selfies at the waterfall

Heather and I made sure to take a few photos together!

Two of my loves and my first official solo selfie

Fun with some of my besties!  We were super lucky the Metchos were in Sunriver at the same time, all an unplanned coincidence!

A very dirty Little Guy, he sure knows how to play and four of my favorite kiddos.  Gabe and I hope our boys grow up to be just like Jack and Madison!

Fun at the High Desert Museum.  Uncle Gabe and Emme, those two are quite the pair!

Little Guy loved the museum, especially the play area complete with costumes...that you put over your head and share with everyone (my head itched just watching them play!)

And then the rain...I mean hail started to fall!

Breaktime!

Cocktails at the lodge

Family photo in front of our house...yes, we LOVE matching!!

The group photo, minus Uncle Chris

Our two train lovers boarded the Sunriver Express while we waited for our last lunch before heading home...they loved it!

An official group photo right before the rain started falling and we all loaded up for our trip home.

How we all felt about leaving.  Little Guy told us he wanted to stay in Sunriver for a lot of days...
