Milk and Cookies

How do you celebrate your first birthday??? If your mother is a crazy lady (and I think my husband would confirm that I am!), then you do it with a HUGE bash of course!  We decided on a Milk and Cookies theme way back when and couldn't have been happier with how it turned out. We had plenty of yummy cookies, delicious tri-tip, and a make your own custom milk bar, how could it not be a great party?  Mr. Wyatt Bear was all about his cupcake and the constant stream of attention he received and Little Guy woke up the day after asking if the party could come back and play with him.  I think we have some party animals on our hands!
Aunt Julie was the first to try out the milk bar

Six Years and Counting

I can hardly believe that six years ago I was running around getting dolled up to walk down the aisle to marry my sweet husband and here we are today running around getting ready to host a shindig to celebrate Mr. Wyatt Bear's first birthday!  I couldn't have imagined how wonderful my life would be, although I knew it would be nothing short of magical when I said "I Do"- I feel so blessed to have spent the last six years married to my hubby ( and the last 12!!!! years by his side!) and so incredibly grateful that he provides a life for us that allows me to stay home with our two boys to watch them grow every day.  I love you more today than I did yesterday and I can't imagine how much more I'll love you tomorrow.  Thank you for being my everything.

Happy 4th of July

We spent the first half of the summer holiday running around like crazy getting ready for the big party tomorrow and the second half relaxing with the Santopadres.  We were lucky enough to BBQ with our besties and then trek up to their family's house to watch the fireworks from their backyard.  I tell you, there's something about watching fireworks with no crowds or traffic and having the kids watch an outdoor showing of Peter Pan while they wait that makes me think I'll never go downtown again.  Couple all that with the delicious desserts and the patriotic soundtrack we had whispering in the background and you've got one heck of an evening!  Now if only I had some good pictures to show for it!

Backdoor Bistro

We decided to celebrate our anniversary early since we are BUSY this weekend and who better to celebrate with than some of our best friends who were celebrating their 9th anniversary!  We talked them in to trying the Backdoor Bistro and while we had the absolute latest possible reservation, Mr. Wyatt Bear decided he didn't want to go to bed so we left him awake with Uncle Greg...dinner was delicious, and Mr. Wyatt Bear eventually fell asleep so it was a win win for everyone.  With a special bottle of South African wine to toast to another year of wedded bliss, it was a great way to spend our 6th anniversary!

You only turn ONE once

Mr. Wyatt Bear woke up to balloons and presents all ready to celebrate him turning ONE!  He could have cared less about unwrapping gifts with the balloons floating around, but his big brother took care of them.  We headed to Super Franks to meet up with Gigi, Auntie, Peyton, Auntie Heather, and Jack Jack to celebrate!  All the kiddos had a blast and after a short car nap, we ended up back at Gigi and Papa's for birthday dinner.  It was a relaxing special day, just the way it should be when you're celebrating your first birthday!

Happy First Birthday

Well, it happened.  As hard as I wished the day to stay away, it came and my sweet little baby turned ONE!  Mr. Wyatt Bear, there has never been a baby as smiley as you and I can't imagine our family without your giggles and grins.  We wish you the happiest of days today and can't wait to celebrate with a trip to Super Franks and a day spent playing with your family.  From our little peanut to our daredevil baby boy, you make each day something special, we love you!

I love you more...

I have been buzzing around my house all day, starting and halfway completing most projects, as we get ready for Mr. Wyatt Bear to turn one...it's happening tomorrow, and I am going to be completely honest, it's made me an emotional mess.  Just the other day I read a quote about motherhood and young children that went something along the lines of "You'll never be as loved as you are now, so cherish every moment..." I know it's meant to inspire and remind us how amazing motherhood is, but it just made me even more sad to know that everyday they are growing up, and try as I may to soak in every last second, they are still getting bigger too fast and I want them to stay little.  I can't believe that the sweet innocent smile that melts my heart a thousand times a day was just a dream 364 days ago.  Mr. Wyatt Bear, I want to keep you small and precious forever, you make my heart so full with your endless laughter and joy- I know you are going to grow up (I can't stop it no matter how hard I try) and I am so honored to watch you explore your world everyday, so if I can't keep you little forever, it is with an unmeasurable amount of pride and unfaltering love that I look forward to seeing the little boy you're growing up to be.  I hope (but I know better) that year two slows down, I have a feeling if I blink one more time you're going to be asking to borrow the car.  Happy Birthday my sweet love, I love you more than you could ever imagine.
