D Day...Or Not Take 2

Well, today was the big date and this sweet baby decided it's not quite ready to meet us all...this whole summer I've been worried that we wouldn't make it the first day of school or Gabe would miss a fantasy football draft...well, be careful what you wish for!  Now we're officially overdue and waiting, patiently when we can, to head to the hospital.  I know the day will come soon enough and no one has ever been pregnant forever, but I am just really excited for our new family of 5 and can barely keep it together with this waiting game!  Littlest love, we can't wait to snuggle you!

First Day!

Today was the first day of PEP school and MDO and let me just say, what a difference a year makes.  Wesley was all about school and so confident walking in.  He was EXCITED to see his teachers and made new friends the first day, including two named Noah and Wyatt.  Wyatt was a little nervous but we left while he was busy painting...I have a feeling day two will be a little trickier with our little buddy...Since Daddy had taken the morning off to do drop off, we made the most of it and hit up the pedicure shop.  Luck would have it that we ran over and were a few minutes late to pick up on the first day- I told Gabe we may as well toss any hope of a good reputation down the drain, no one wants to be friends with the lame parents who are late the first day...well, maybe the parents noticed, I am not sure, but Wesley certainly didn't- he was pretty jazzed to have extra time in class.  I am so proud of our confident brave boys, I am really looking forward to seeing how this year goes!

PEP School is BACK!

Today was PEP school orientation and this year we had two kiddo classrooms to tour!  Wyatt is going to spend a few hours in the Mother's Day Out Program and although he doesn't admit it, we all think he's going to love it!  There are many Elmo toys, paint, and snack time, so it sounds like a win win for everyone!  Wesley was SO EXCITED to get to see his teachers again after the summer break and he slid right back into the classroom like it was no big deal...let's hope he stays so confident come the first day of school...and let's hope this baby stays put just long enough for mama to kiss her boys at the school door!

38 weeks and 2 days

We had our weekly appointment today and EVERYONE was able to make it...Wesley was in charge of the jelly and heart monitor again and he found the heart beat immediately when he started rolling it on my belly.  It was reassuring to hear the steady beat but let's just say, when the doctor says he MIGHT be able to say you're dilated to a 2 (although I may always be a 2 since I have already had 2 babies) but probably more like 1.5 and you were SO confident he would just take you right over to labor and delivery himself, it makes for a slightly disappointing visit....he says to stay positive, you never know what may happen, but as it stands right now, this baby is looking forward to a full term due date...

Two Little Fish

Look who got to join big brother for swim lessons!  We were able to find a spot for both boys to take lessons together and while Wyatt was pretty skeptical at first since Mommy was not in the water, Coach Donovan found a ball for him to swim to and he was all about it!  I am not sure how long it will last to have them together, but we'll keep it like this for the month of September.

One Tough Cookie

Turning 4 is not for the faint of heart...now that Wesley is getting so big, our doctors appointments, dentist appointments, haircuts, etc. include so much more!  He mustered the courage for the arm cuff blood pressure test, a vision test (we only got one eye tested), 4 year old immunizations, dental xrays and a real cleaning, and a haircut complete with the electric clippers.  I know I am not the one getting poked and prodded, but this growing up bit is pretty tough on mama too....let's stay little just a little bit longer!

D Day...or Not

I thought for sure it was go time...I spent all of last night WIDE AWAKE, like can't even close your eyes for one second because your body is FOR SURE preparing to deliver a baby.  I let Gabe sleep, knowing I would need him well rested and ready for the long haul.  Then I miraculously fell asleep, and kept sleeping, and woke up to nothing.  Not a contraction, not a broken water, nothing!  I couldn't believe it.  I took to the Internet, because that's where all helpful and always accurate information can be found at 3 am, and was assured that laboring like that could be something or nothing and not to worry if the contractions stopped...they could go like that for weeks...WEEKS...who thinks that's even funny to say to a pregnant mama!?!?!  Well, I am sad to report, the Internet is so far correct and there is nothing to report on the baby front...please keep your fingers crossed that something, anything, happens soon!
