A riddle

What do you get when you cross a Saturday afternoon, a husband on a mission, and a wife who hasn't truly shopped in over a year....
You get WAY too many shopping bags
followed by El Pollo Loco being eaten in the bathroom while Little Guy gets a pre-bed bath (I shouldn't admit to this, but we had to do a bath since he hadn't had one since Thursday, grossness!)
The hubby decided he needed new clothes- not a new shirt or some socks, a new wardrobe.  He does this every few years, gets on a certain fashion kick and commits to converting his style...the current kick is cowboy/western.  He wants to have fancy clothes for dinners, meetings, and going out (apparently wearing tennis shoes to industry functions gets you teased a little).   He told me, and I quote, his shopping experience in the western store was the most fun he's ever had shopping with me (I reminded him that he did propose marriage on a shopping trip, so maybe today should be his second favorite shopping trip ever).  Anyways, he's now got his fancy pants (literally) and square toed boots to start his wardrobe conversion and I've got my eggplant purple winter coat (super excited over here!) to start my fall wardrobe, win win for everyone.  And yes, even Little Guy made out today with not one, not two, but three pairs of shoes...My "one pair a season plan" only lasted through the first season.  And in case anyone else besides me was on pins and needles about the lost sandal, I have GREAT news- IT WAS FOUND!!!  I retraced my steps AGAIN, and there it was after three days, sitting on the curb under a tree in the Kohl's parking lot, talk about LUCKY!  And just to clarify, the El Pollo Loco was being eaten in the bathroom in an attempt to multi-task with our time so Little Guy could get to bed at a decent hour- we had a late night last night with the football game and before our shopping extravaganza, we had a boating adventure with the Santopadres!
We took all four kiddos out on the boat, complete with a picnic lunch and some fishing.  Daddy was the only one to brave the cold water, but both of the twins got to drive and we all had a blast hanging out together (although I think the babies could have done without the life vests eating their faces.)  It was a fun final voyage, the boat is going on craigslist tomorrow!

Let's Go Dogs

Little Guy got to experience his first high school football game tonight, and boy, what an experience it was.  We went to cheer on the Vaca High Bulldogs AND to watch Uncle Mark's cousin quarterback for the opponents, Marin Catholic.  The game lived up to its hype and Little Guy was a part of the action right up to the winning touchdown pass with five seconds left on the clock...Vaca High Wins and the crowd goes wild.  It was a fun to watch Little Guy take in the sights and sounds and attempt to master the bleacher stairs and ramps.  I am sure we'll look back on this night and think, "it seems just like yesterday that Little Guy was playing in the stands, and now we're cheering him on from them..."

Our Day in Numbers

15- number of clean folded shirts Little Guy unfolded and dumped in the dirty clothes hamper...Mommy's little helper...

8- number of "Married to Jonas" episodes I've watched since last night...I think I may be addicted...will Dani and Kevin decide to have a baby before the brothers leave for their world tour???  I can't wait to find out!

20- number of minutes we lasted in story hour today...we missed the 18 month and under group, so we thought we'd try the 18 month-3 year...Little Guy was just fine, but there was a little too much sitting around for his liking...

1- number of shoes we had on our feet at the end of running errands...I know it's lost somewhere in the car (this is when I am cursing the size of the Armada!)

2- number of words I am pretty sure Little Guy started saying today..."All Done" and "More"....we'll see if it was just my mommy ears hearing things, or if he says them again tomorrow...

107 (give or take 3)- number of times I closed, restocked, and attempted to rig locks on all of our un-baby proofed cabinets...so far the makeup drawer, nail polish bucket, and any shelf holding glass jars are his favorite.

infinity- how much we love our daddy who's working hard and coming home tomorrow!

And in case you've only found 49 things to smile about today, here's number 50:

Pitch Perfect

I am not ashamed to admit it...I saw the preview for Pitch Perfect and I CANNOT wait to see it...If you haven't seen the trailer, watch it now!!

I needed this pick me up after a playgroup that was anything but fun...we had a guest speaker come in to talk about some all natural herbal wraps that help loosen fat to tone and shrink any problem areas you may have- that doesn't sound half bad, until you started filling out numbers and getting your "actual age" based on fat/muscle/heart rate/etc...we won't get into specifics, let's just say, it didn't make me feel any better about myself.

On a different note, cue the teething pain cause Daddy left for Oregon today!  I think Little Guy's teeth just wait for me to be single parenting until they strike...fingers crossed for a decent night's sleep.

Guess What I had for Dinner

Little Guy is pretty much all over anything you give him to eat, or should I say taste.  He loves to put food in his mouth, chew it and gum it all around, then spit it out, making sure to get EVERY LAST PIECE of food out of his mouth...so with just a quick glance, you can see we had broccolini, ribs, potatoes, peaches, and some yogurt melts (just Little Guy had yogurt melts!)...Meal time is a mess in our house...good thing Olive and Winston are around and LOVE to help with cleanup.

T-minus one week

I had a little special treat today with some R&R mani/pedi time with some of my besties...it was really a pre-season gift before football (and therefore fantasy football) starts up and our hubbies become otherwise preoccupied for a portion of our Sundays...and Mondays...and the occasional Thursday...nonetheless, it was nice to get my toes all shined up and catch up with the ladies (although I miss Little Guy and Daddy even when I am getting pampered!).  Earlier in the day we hit up one of Little Guy's favorite parks.  Here's a quick shot Daddy got of us on the see-saw!

Side note:  We pre-registered for PRE-SCHOOL today!!!  How is that possible?  It may seem like I am uber on the ball, but I am actually not...Baby Jackson's been on the waiting list since BIRTH!!  Here's to the preschool class of 2014-2015!

Happy Birthday Baby Lizzy Bug

Birthday season continues with Miss Lizzy Bug's garden themed first birthday party!  We had a blast celebrating her with giant flowers, a ball pool, and YUMMY desserts!!  Miss Lizzy was quite the birthday girl in her flower costume and birthday bib, too precious!  We've had so much fun watching our babies grow this year, only two weeks apart!  We can't wait to watch them grow up together with a lot more birthday party fun to come!

Here friend, have a block to eat!
